These inspirational educational quotes are words of wisdom and positive attitudes about learning.
With an open mind and the right attitude we can enjoy a lifetime of learning, it should never be restricted to the time we spend being 'schooled.'
Since I began this website in 2010 I have learnt a great deal from researching for quotes and the authors, putting this website together, photographing nature and writing my blog. It is very time consuming, but I really enjoy doing it so it's all worthwhile.

Photo: Grandaughter (Lucy) writing a letter. Lucy and her brother Seth are home educated. I strongly believe in the freedom of choice to home educate. I think it is one of the best ways to let a child develop naturally, joyfully pursuing their own passions to begin a journey of life-long learning.
I have always thought that traditional schooling is too restrictive and teaches so many things that are boring to most children and not needed for the majority. I have always thought that first aid (especially how to save a life), relationships (understanding human behaviour), positive thinking, how to bring up caring, respectful children and many other life skills, are much more important for everyone to learn than some of the things that are taught in school and then never used again for the rest of your life.
I know that a lot of people will disagree with me, and I know that some of our family disapprove of my daughter home educating. But it takes courage and strength of character to go against the 'normal' way of the majority, so I have great respect and admiration for my daughter standing up for what she believes in.
